Dr. Marie S. Williamson holds degrees from Bennett College (Bachelor of Arts, English and French); North Carolina A&T State University (Master of Arts, British and Afro-American Literature); and the University of NC at Greensboro (Master of Education, English; Doctor of Education, Curriculum and Instruction).

Her professional experience includes North Carolina public school teacher of English and French; Program Designer/Director (WS/FC Schools, Winston-Salem State University, Mt. Zion Baptist Church); Curriculum and Test Coordinator (WS/FC Schools); Asst. Professor of English and Education (Full-time and Adjunct-Bennett College and WSSU) Teaching Assistant (UNC-G); and Orientation Director (Bennett College). Her certifications include French-A, English (Teaching Doctoral Level) and Supervision: Curriculum and Instruction Specialist-DSG.
She was member of the task force thar provided diversity training for the WSFC School System, area of expertise: Teaching students via their cultural and learning styles)
Her volunteer experiences include reading tutor (WS/FC and Guildford Co Schools); Advisory Boards for WS Crisis Control, WS Urban League and WSUL Guild; Youth Component of National Black Theater; The Society for the Study of Afro American History in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County; and Designer and Co-Director of YEEP (Youth Educational Enhancement Program), the after-school initiative at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
